Scott is passionate about patient care. He believes eye care is vital to his patients’ quality of life. He grew up in Gulfport, MS and feels blessed to have the ability to raise his family here. Scott received his B.S. in Microbiology from Mississippi State University and continued his education and training by earning his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where he met his wife Dr. Katherine Sanders. He began his career practicing in Collierville, TN before moving home to practice as the chief optometrist of the Corneal Refractive Surgery Clinic at Keesler Air Force Base. Scott formed Coast Eyes in 2011 from Newman/Mitchell Eye Clinic, which was founded in 1949 in Biloxi.
Warm is a word often used to describe Katherine. She takes pride in providing personalized care to her patients, believing that each patient has a unique set of concerns and desires when it comes to their vision. She is a University of Kansas alumnus and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where she and her husband, Dr. Scott Sanders, met. Katherine began her career practicing in north Mississippi before moving with her husband to the Mississippi gulf coast. Prior to joining Coast Eyes she practiced in a multidisciplinary setting in Ocean Springs and Biloxi.
